Question and Answers

Q:

display oven wont light 79071411400 Kenmore Gas range

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your range. Upon researching model 79071411400; the “F1” error code indicates that that the control board may have shorted or that the oven sensor may have failed. You can unplug the range power cord for 5 minutes then reapply the power. If the problem persists then you can unplug the range power cord and remove the oven sensor when the oven is not hot and test the sensor for continuity using a multi-meter. If the test reads continuity then the sensor is ok, if the sensor does not read continuity then the sensor may need to be replaced. After testing the sensor if the sensor is not the problem part then the electronic control board may need to be replaced.  I have posted a link of the electronic control board to view the link click here.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Q:

Why does my Kenmore oven model 79071411400 have small flames and somtimes won't light ?

A:

Core Issue: Why does my Kenmore oven model 79071411400 have small flames and somtimes won't light ?

Answer: If your range has small flames it could be a number of different issues:

  • Clogged orfices

  • Oven igniter

  • Safety valve

  • Over burner

Most of the time when you can get your burner lit but the flame is not high you are having a gas supply issue.

I would recommend sending a tech out to diagnose the issue due to the many possible issues.
