Question and Answers

Q:

Need a Pilot light KIDS hungry

A:

I can understand how this can be really concerning especially when kids are involved. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, a suggestion I have is to visit Sears Home Services website to set service with a Sears technician so they can come out and diagnose this problem. I have attached the link below. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

You mention connecting the gas supply but it also needs a power supply in order for the surface ignition and the oven ignition system to operate as well for the clock/oven control to operate.

Your Kenmore gas range does not have any pilot lights that need to be lit. Your range uses an electronic spark ignition system for the surface burners and it uses an electronic glow bar ignition system for the bake and broil burners. Connect the gas, plug the power cord into a working outlet, set the clock to the time of day and your range should be ready to use unless you have the range connected to LP gas. If you are not using Natural gas then the range must be converted to use LP gas.
