Question and Answers

Q:

What does F13 mean on my gas stove?

A:

Error codes can be an inconvenience and keep your range from working properly. I did some research and I was able to find a link that will provide you with some good information. I am also adding a second link in where you can set service to have your range repaired by a certified technician. I hope this helps with your range troubles while you wait for your expert response.

The F13 code indicates that you have an internal memory problem with the electronic oven control board in the console. You may be able to correct that problem by completely unplugging the range for 5 minutes to reset that control board. Plug the range back in and see if the F13 code returns when you try to use the oven. If it does, then you will need to replace that electronic oven control board (part 316418209). You can order that part from this page: Clock Timer Control Board for Kenmore Range Model 790.71363708 . You will probably also need to order the overlay (part 316419109). Here is a link for that part: Overlay for Control Board on Kenmore Range Model 790.71363708 . Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing internal components. Remove the back panel behind the console to access and replace that control board. Note the location of the wires connected to the control board before removing them. Take a digital picture of the wires to document their location if necessary. Remove the wires. The control board is mounted to the back of the console with 4 screws. Remove the screws and then pull out the existing control board. Replace the control board and connect the wires properly. Reassemble the range.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician examine and repair the range, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
