Question and Answers

Q:

My Stove Is Whining

A:

When our stove starts to have problems with it, it can be really frustrating especially when we turn to that appliance everyday. A suggestion I have while you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, you can visit Sears Home Services website to set service with a Sears technician. I have attached the link below. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details the gas pressure regulator is most likely causing the whining noise as the gas flow is being regulated. Replacing the gas pressure regulator will likely resolve the whining noise. I recommend calling a service technician to remove and replace the pressure regulator to insure it's not leaking gas once installed.

The pressure regulator is part #316091706 which is available to order from Sears PartsDirect

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
