Question and Answers

Q:

Why no gas flow to left-rear burner, but the other 3 are working properly 79060012601 Kenmore Gas range

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear that the left-rear burner is not receiving gas. I know how frustrating that is to have happen.

The most likely issue would be a faulty gas valve for that burner. Over time and usage, sometimes the valves will get in a stuck closed or open position and will need replacement. I see the part number as 5304458372.

Anytime you deal with gas components, there is possibility for leakage, and we strongly urge you to have this repair completed by a service technician.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your range. According to your symptoms, the bake igniter is likely the failed component even though it is glowing. The gas valve will not open unless the resistance of the igniter decreases to a point where enough current flows through the gas valve. Since the broil and bake igniters are the same in this range, you can verify this failure by switching the igniters (with the range unplugged) to see if the bake burner will ignite with the broil igniter installed. If the bake burner ignites properly with the broil igniter installed on it then replacing the failed igniter should fix your problem. Since the igniter glows, the failure is not likely in the control. If the bake burner does not igniter with the igniters switched then the most likely failed component would be the gas valve assembly.  I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
