Q:

broiler won't broil? 79048083000 Kenmore Elite Wall oven

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your oven does not work properly.

I recommend testing the oven temperature probe.

318562500 is the temperature probe.

If that still does not work, then it may be a wiring issue or the control board is broken.

Q:

No heat after self-clean; no error code 79048083000 Kenmore Elite Wall oven

A:

After seeing that we might be able to reset a bi-metal thermal fuse, we removed panels until we found a bimetal thermal switch under the top panel on the right. There was no reset switch on this fuse. We took it out and looked at both sides. We had already looked under the back panel (as directed in "Reset or replace the wall oven thermal fuse"), but we didn't find a reset switch there either. There is also no indication of any heat damage. When we turned the power back on, there was still no heat from any of the elements nor any error code. How do we test to determine which part to replace? Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Wall Oven, Model: 790.48083000. From reviewing the details on your model, the only way to correctly find out why your oven is not working is to use a volt/ohm meter for testing suspected components. All of the voltage going to the oven elements comes from the EOC, electronic oven control. The EOC has relays that open & close to provide voltage to the oven. We need to know if you have the correct voltage coming in & going out of the EOC. This can only be done with a volt meter.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the oven to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.
