Question and Answers

Q:

Why is my oven not heating? 79047854405 Kenmore Walloven-microwave combo

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Wall Oven, Model: 790.47854405. From reviewing the details on your model, you did not indicate if the glow bar igniter is glowing red or not. Open the broiler drawer and start a bake or broil cycle and watch to see if the oven burner glow bar ignitor is glowing red or not. If you find it glowing red but the burner never ignites would indicate a weak glow bar ignitor and it would need to be replaced. If the glow bar is not glowing at all the failure is likely a bad glow bar ignitor or possibly a failed safety gas valve. Now, if you do not hear a faint click noise of the relay behind the console closing when you program bake or broil the failure could be the control board.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the wall oven to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.
