Question and Answers

Q:

Need new microwave 79047849406 Kenmore Walloven-microwave combo

A:

I am sorry you are experiencing difficulties with your Microwave. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. I strongly suggest that you have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. I have provided a link To Sears Home Services if you decide to schedule service. If you think it may be cost effective to just replace the unit, I have also provided a link to the Microwave section of Sears.com to price out what a replacement would cost.

I do not want fix the microwave. I will be replacing it. BUT since this is a oven / microwave combo only certain microwaves will fit. I need to know what model microwaves will fit in the hole left by the bad one? And will I need a mounting kit for the new microwave?

Thank you for submitting your question. I understand the need to know this information and I will be happy to assist you. You can use any microwave as a replacement. You'll want the new unit to be 2.0 cubic feet. With a height of 13 3/4 and with a width of 24 5/8. The depth is unknown but that doesn't matter as long as it's not covering the outlet on top of the lower oven. I hope this information helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

How do I replace the front door glass on my Kenmore range?

A:

Take the oven door off and remove the door handle by taking the two screws out. Flip the door over so that the outer glass is upright and remove the 5 screws from the lower trim in order to remove the outer glass. See instructions in the image I added below.
