Q:

Error code F14 79047849400 Kenmore Walloven-microwave combo

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Kenmore oven/microwave.

From the information you have provided above, I can understand the frustration of having your unit malfunction. The F14 error code indicates a problem with the console or the electronic control board in the oven. It can be caused by a loose or damaged ribbon cable connector between the console and the EOC. A failed EOC or a bad console can also cause this problem. I recommend that you have a technician diagnose and repair this type of failure. The microwave will need to be diagnosed and repaired by a technician. Capacitors inside the microwave can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the breaker is shut off to completely disconnect electrical power. A microwave radiation leakage test must be performed on the microwave following any internal repair. These are the reasons I recommend having a service technician repair the microwave

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.

*Safety disclaimer before you try and repair the unit make sure the power supply is disconnected. There may be sharp parts to the unit that can cause injury to you if not careful. If you don’t not feel comfortable checking this yourself you can request a technician by visiting www.SearsHomeService.com*

Q:

What does F10 in the display mean? 79047849400 Kenmore Walloven-microwave combo

A:

Thank you for choosing ManageMyLife.com and allowing us to help you. It can be a very frustrating situation when a key appliance becomes compromised. The F 10 fault code indicates a runaway temperature condition. Try unplugging the micro-wave for a couple of minutes and see if that helps. Sometime this will clear an electrical glitch in the appliance. This problem is an indication that the microwave has an internal component failure that will need to be serviced by a technician. I am sorry, but we do not give repair information on micro-wave ovens because they are inherently dangerous to service. Micro-waves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the micro-wave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage, and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. That is why I strongly warn you to have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. My research show that this microwave combo unit was produced about 9 years ago. The average life expectancy of a micro-wave is nine years. Sometimes it can be more cost effective to replace rather than repair this type of appliance. You can have it- repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Click here to schedule service at the Sears Home Services website. A 10% discount coupon is available when service is set online.

Normally at ManageMyLife.com we like to help you with all of your repairs, but our expert advice is that microwaves are just too dangerous.

Thanks again for choosing ManageMyLife.com

Q:

Oven Door 79047849400 Kenmore Walloven-microwave combo

A:

Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Kenmore wall oven/microwave combination. I am so sorry to hear the oven door is loose. I know how that can change the efficiency of the oven. I will be happy to help you with this.

I recommend you start by checking the oven door seal. If the door seal is coming loose or is damaged it should be replaced. I have included that link for you.

Oven Door Seal for Kenmore Wall Oven model 79047849400.

If the seal is fine, then you will need to change the hinges to tighten the door. I have included the links for the parts. Whenever you replace a hinge, you should replace both sides so that they wear evenly.

Door Hinge for Kenmore Wall Oven model 79047849400.

While you are replacing the hinges, also check the hinge receptacles and covers. I have included those links for you also.

Hinge Receptacle for Kenmore Wall Oven model 79047849400.

Hinge Cutout Cover for Kenmore Wall Oven model 79047849400.

The parts come individually. So if you are replacing both sides, be sure to order two of each. If you are not comfortable completing this repair yourself, you can have a Sears' technician complete the repair for you. To set up service please go to www.SearsHomeServices.com or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answers your questions. If I can be of further assistance please respond to this thread. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.
