Question and Answers

Q:

coil bent in Kenmore wall oven

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The bake element will likely sag again after it gets further into the clean cycle. The bottom of the oven is not likely damaged. When it cools down, check and see if the bake element is missing any of the little supports keeping the element up and off the floor of the oven. It should have at least 3-4 supports spaced out and clipped to the element to prevent it from sagging and touching the floor.

If you decide to replace the bake element, the bake element part number is 318255401 for Kenmore oven model 790.47839400 can be ordered from Searspartsdirect.com

NOTE: Be sure and flip both house circuit breakers off dedicated for the oven before removing and replacing the bake element.

I would also make sure the new bake element has enough support brackets. You can likely take the one off the old bake element and add them to the new bake element if needed.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "F14" indicates it may have a faulty touch panel/control panel or the flat ribbon connection connecting the touch panel to the electronic oven control is not making a good connection at P6 or P12 at the Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

The "F14" could also display if it has a faulty Electronic Oven Control/Clock assembly. This is why I strongly suggest calling a service technician to properly diagnose and repair your wall oven. This way if it's mis-diagnose, you will not be stuck with the part. These parts cannot be returned if they are connected and installed.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician.  Here is a link for the website:  Sears Home Services.

Q:

Why is my Kenmore oven flashing an F0 error code?

A:

After searching every manual available for this unit I do not see an F0 error code listed. Usually after a power failure the clock will display 12:00. Please see the image provided of the error code list for this model.
