Question and Answers

Q:

I have an F1 error on my Kenmore ELite Model 790.46803. How often does shutting down the power fix this error? 79046803993 Kenmore Elite Electric slide-in range

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your range. The "F1" fault code indicates an error in the electronic oven control circuitry. The failure is most likely the electronic oven control board and a slight possibility of a faulty oven temperature sensor probe. The oven temperature sensor should have a resistance measurement of 1050 to 1100 ohms at room temperature. The oven temperature sensor can be remove from inside the oven cavity and tested using an ohm meter. If the sensor measures approximately 1050 to 1100 ohms, replace the oven control board. If you reset the error code, this is usually only a temporary fix. I would suggest you find out which part is causing the issue, and replace it. Q:

What does error F1 mean on a Kenmore range, model number 79046803993?

A:

In reference to your Kenmore range, model number 790.46803993;

F-1 Error : Electronic Oven Control failure

An error has been detected by the control. Most error codes are generated as a result of irregularities in the power supply or usage.

Error codes can often be resolved by removing power to the appliance for a minute and then restoring the power.

Note : By unplugging the appliance it allows the control to receive a fresh supply of power. This in turn will clear the controls memory of any irregularities it may have received from the power supply. Once refreshed the error should no longer be displayed.
