Question and Answers

Q:

Why isn't my range heating properly?

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your range. There are two thermal cutout on this model, so you will need to test them both. They are located under the back panel, one on each side. This video will give you an idea, on how to access and replace the fuses. This is for a different model but the process is the same: Oven Thermal Fuse. The image below will show you what they look like. To test these you will need an ohm/volt meter and you will be looking for the open circuit. This will be an infinity reading on the meter. It is possible for both of these to have stop working, but not likely. I would recommend that you test them before replacing them. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services. Click on "Get Started" and follow the directions, click on the red "NEXT" button to continue. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. Ann, I removed the rear panel and I do not see either switch. 119 nor 219. I looked at the picture of switch in the parts list and there is nothing like that on my range. What do we do next. Thanks.

All the information that I have and have found show that these fuses are supposed to be there. The only thing that I can suggest at this point is to have a technician look at it. You have already done everything that you can. Please let me know if there is anything else you need. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Okay, I finally found switch #119 PN 318005212 and it is okay. It was smaller than it looks in the picture and behind a bundle of wires. Where to next. Leon
