A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your range and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 79046703601 and if the "Flex Clean button/pad does not except the command when pushed; it could have a faulty touch panel/console. I highly suggest calling a service technician to properly diagnose and repair your range. I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. Q:

My oven turns on but it isn't heating

A:

No heat in the oven may mean a cold supper. The expert will review to help return the oven to normal. I did locate a similar question and attached below along with the link to Sears Home Services if a technician is needed. Please allow up to two days for the expert.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the surface elements heat and the bake and broil elements do not get hot, I suspect the electronic oven control/clock assembly has failed.  In order to properly diagnose the failure will require voltage meter and making live voltage checks at the electronic oven control for the bake and broil circuits. NOTE: I do not recommend making any voltage measurements unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I highly recommend calling a service technician.

I recommend calling a service technician to properly diagnose and repair your range.

So that’s what I can tell you at this point. I can give you more detailed help if you could provide me with the complete model number. There should be 4 additional numbers following the 790.4670XXXX.  If you could supply me with that information I will be happy to assist you further.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.

A:

BUFGIN; Thank you for adding the complete model number. I added an image below of the wiring diagram and I traced the bake and broil circuits. If the voltage supply measures correctly (220 volts) at the terminal block across the RED and BLACK wires where the power supply connects, and the oven will not heat for bake or broil, the electronic oven control is likely faulty.

I was on Sears chat a couple days ago, and they seemed to think it could possibly be the board#316418101. What is the difference in these 2 parts? The part I mentioned is much cheaper. I realize we still have some troubleshooting to do, just wondering what the difference is between these 2 parts.

A:

BUFGIN; Part # 316418101 is the "COOKTOP" lockout board and not the board that controls the oven operation. The part number I provided is the Electronic Oven Control board.

OK, I'm glad I checked. I wanted to make sure you realize that the display still works, i.e. , I can set to broil or bake and change temps. I can hear the fan running, it just doesn't heat.
