According to the parts list diagram, the part for the far right burner knob does not appear to be a substituted part. I am showing that it is part number 318220081. If that part was substituted, it would normally be replaced by a burner switch kit that is part number 903136-9020. The installation instructions for that kit are shown in the first image below. Be sure that you shut off the house circuit breakers (or remove the house fuses) for the range to completely disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components . The second image shows the wiring diagram for the burners in this range. The top wiring diagram shows the wiring for your range with the coil elements. The new burner switch should have the connection spades for the wires marked. The location and/or the markings may be different. Here is a list that shows how the new markings on the substituted replacement switch should equate to the markings on the old switch if you are using kit part 903136-9020:

  • H1 = 1
  • P = 2
  • L1 = 3
  • H2 = 4
  • L2 = 5

This information may help you properly install and connect the wires on that new burner switch. Make sure that you connect those wires properly. If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

If you get to a point where you need to have a service technician replace this burner switch, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

The burner switches control the heating level on the burners. Replacing the burner switches on the affected burners should fix this problem. You can order those switches from the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number for the left front burner switch is 903136-9010. The right front burner switch is part number 318220081.

You can shut off the house circuit breaker for the range and access those burner switches in the console as shown in the image below. Be sure that you properly attach the wires to the new burner switches when replacing those components.

This information should help you resolve this burner heating problem in your range. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
