Question and Answers

Q:

My Kenmore oven heats but not as hot as it should be.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

To begin with, both oven elements are use during bake. During a normal bake mode, the oven alternates between the bake and broil element. So, you will need to check and confirm that both elements in the oven will heat. If one of the two is not working, this could be problem. You did not state how far below the set temperature the oven is actually heating up to.

The oven temperatures can be calibrated up or down 35 degrees if both oven elements are working and if the temperature only needs to be raised 35 degrees or less.

On page 18 in the Use and Care Manual  it will have the instructions for calibrating the oven temperature.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

The solution was to turn off the circuit breaker for 10 minutes or longer and then reset the circuit breaker. This allowed the oven control to reset itself. This was my solution to once again having the oven heat to the proper tempearatures.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The control panel will need to be taken off in order to access the two screws securing the burner switch to the mounting plate. Remove one wire at a time from the old switch and transfer it to the matching terminal on the new switch.

I added an image below with the procedure of accessing the burner switches. NOTE: Disconnect the range from the power supply before servicing your range.

A:

CORRECTION: 'over door locked' should be 'oven door locked".

A:

The F90 error code indicates a problem with the oven door lock circuit. Try running the self-cleaning cycle again but for only about 5-6 minutes then press stop/cancel, this should cause the lock motor to reset. If this does not help other testing will need performed.

This type of testing will require accessing the lock assembly & electronic control. The lock circuit could have a loose wiring connection or be in a bind. First; be sure to disconnect power before attempting service. Please see the image provided below for step by step instructions for access, testing & replacing the lock assembly.
