The replacement switch needs to be wired in the same manner as the original switch. If you failed to mark or document the location of those wires then you may be able to use the wiring diagram that is shown below to properly connect those wires. Be sure that you shut off the house circuit breakers to completely disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components and wiring. If you are not certain that you can properly connect those wires using the information shown below, then I recommend that you have a service technician replace that burner switch. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you still want to connect that switch yourself and you need more help, reply with additional details and the exact location of the burner (front left or front right burner). Indicate the colors of the wires that go to that switch. We will try to assist you further once we receive more information.

Generally, the black will be connected to L1, the red will go to L2 and then the orange wires will be connected to H1 and H2. That configuration is shown in the image below for the burner switch that is used with a regular burner. Legend 2 shows that the LF burner should have orange wires on H1 and H2. This may help you connect that burner switch. If you are not certain that you have it connected properly, then I recommend that you have a service technician wire up that switch. Failure to wire it correctly can damage components and will create a dangerous situation.
