Actually I tested the broil function and it seemed to be operational. So it is the element on the bottom that seems to be the problem.

Thank you for your question.  If the problem started suddenly and neither the Bake or Broil element will work then I suspect the control is at fault but there are some things to consider first.

Do you still get a beep with a keypad is pressed? 

Does the oven light work when the keypad is pressed? 

Is the clock still correct.  If not can you program and set the time?  The oven will not work if the time of day is not set. 

The oven should also display an error code if it is not working.  Do you notice any F1, F3 or F9 codes?
