Q:

The racks keep falling in my oven.they are 14 5/8 by 24 1/16. They need to be 24 1/4 to fit. Would my oven be bulging? 79036723604

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your range. Upon researching model number 79036723604; check the inside walls for any warping. It may be the walls if all the racks are falling out. Metal expands with the heat. Then it cools to its original composition. Metal may warp after doing this process so many times.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Thanks for adding the model number of your Kenmore range. I'm not sure why Kitchen Aid was telling you to have heat shields installed on a range that was not made by them. Your Kenmore slide in range shouldn't require any additional heat shields installed.

I added a link to the installation instructions that can also be found at Manage My Life by clicking on Manuals and entering the model number of your Kenmore range.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Hi, that should have read Kitchen Maid not aid. It is the cabinet people, and they have said that slide in ranges need heat shields installed. They said because we have their laminate cabinets, it is very important to get the heat shields. I ordered them and they are lexan (or polycarbonate) strips, but I have no clue where to attach them. The stove was installed per your directions. Thoughts? THanks in advance.

A:

Mjbgaf: I'm not familiar with the lexan (polycarbonate) heat shield strips. I recommend contacting the company who sold you the shields and see if they can send the installation instructions for the shields.

Q:

How do I convert my gas range from natural gas to LP?

A:

From what you are describing it sounds like what you have & what the instructions say are not a match. The “down for shut” handle is to turn the gas off to the range, nothing to do with LP conversion. For a situation like this I would recommend calling for service.

Expert answer = call for service. Frankly, I rather eat one of my babies than sit around waiting for Sears service engineer to show up based on previous performance. I'll figure it out for myself and then post an answer.
