Q:

The sparking won't stop on the oven..HELP!! 79036723601 Kenmore Elite Gas range

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Elite Range, Model: 79036723601. I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with all the burners on the stove.  On reviewing your model, I have found a video for a similar model of stove on how to replace the spark module. I have included the link below.

Safety Warning: before beginning the repair, disconnect the power supply to the Range to prevent risk of injury from electrical shock.

Caution: Internal parts may have sharp edges that may cause serious cuts. Use caution and wear protective gloves if possible.

If you don’t feel confident/comfortable repairing this problem yourself, then you can have a sears technician repair it at your home. The link and phone number for our technicians services: SearsHomeServices.com or 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and have a wonderful rest of your day.

Q:

New elite oven clock timer displays 0 on tempature dial and proof bread light while off.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

When the range is first plugged in, the display should flash "PF" and when Stop/Clear is pressed, the "PF" should disappear after about 10 seconds and beep should be heard. Then press "Clock" and "CLO" should appear. Then you would press the number pads to set the correct time of day and it should display the time of day and "CLO" should stay in the display. Press "Start" and "CLO" should disappear and the clock will start. If this is not happening, I suspect you have a faulty new electronic oven control. I also assume pressing the "Stop/Clear" pad will not clear the number "0" or turn off the "Proof Bread" LED.

I assume this did not happen until the new control was installed.

I added a link to the Use and Care guide in case you don't have one.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

A:

Your are correct Joey. Start up proceeded as it should except that pressing the stop/clear button did not turn off the "0" or the proof bread light. If I can't get a fix for this, I guess I will have to try and return/replace the clock timer that was sent to me. It's very hard to be without the oven for almost two weeks after I bought it in the first place and knowing it could be four weeks to ship back and get a new one. (holiday season is here)
