You could have a problem with that door lock assembly, the temperature sensor or the clock control board. I recommend that you try setting a new self clean cycle and then canceling that cycle after the door has had time to lock. The oven may begin to heat up in that mode. If you can cancel that cycle after the oven begins to heat, then you may be able to unlock that door. If not, then you will probably need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you want to fix this problem on your own, then you can shut off the house circuit breaker for the range to complete disconnect electrical power. The procedure shown in the first image may help you open that console to that you can access the oven door lock motor. Your range will be slightly different than the one shown in that image. You may find screws that are shown in the second image that need to be removed before that console can be folded forward. Once you access that control board and door lock assembly, you can check the wiring connections on that component. The wiring diagram for that portion of the range is shown in the third image. That information should help you check those wiring connections. If the wiring connections are okay, then you can try to fix the problem by replacing that oven door lock assembly. If you still have problem after replacing that component, then the clock control board will probably need to be replaced. Be sure that you shut off the house circuit breaker to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components.

The link for a previous answer provided by Joseph P. in the above response provided some general tips for replacing the handle. The image below shows some detailed images along with the procedure for removing the outer door panel. The screws that secure the handle to the door are on the inside of this outer door panel. Once you remove that panel, you can replace the screw in the oven door handle.

If the hole in the handle that houses the screw is stripped, then you may need to replace the door handle. Here is a direct Sears PartsDirect.com link for the door handle: Handle . You may also need a screw (part 5303311174).
