Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. Even through the igniter is coming on doesn't mean it's working properly. If the bake igniter is weak, it won't pull enough current/amperage for the oven gas valve to open. An easy way to verify if the issue is with the bake igniter or not, is to switch the broiler igniter with the bake igniter. If the bake option works with the broiler igniter then you'll know you'll need to replace the bake igniter (318177710). You can order parts from our Sears Parts Direct web site. I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Because of use of gas on this product, for safety reasons I would suggest you have a certified gas technician service your range and or have your LP gas provider convert your range.

The issue is that the adjustable orifices on the oven and broil burner have not been changed to the Propane position.

These adjustable orifice hoods have a small propane orifice hole under the larger natural gas orifice hole.

Locate the brass orifice on the bake and broil burners just below the air shutter and use a 1/2 inch open ended wrench to turn the orifice down onto the smaller propane orifice. Under the orifice bonnet there is about a 1/8 of an inch of gap between the bottom of the orifice bonnet and the top of the safety valve. You will need to turn the orifice down until most of that gap is gone. NOTE! do not over tighten.

On page 10 of the installation guide, left hand column locate the picture of the air shutter and orifice hood and see the gap below where you would put the 1/2 wrench on and the safety valve. Once you have adjusted these down you may have to re-adjust the air shutters again to get the best flame. I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Hello LaVerne. You can check the back of the range to see if the LP Conversion Kit is still attached to the back panel. Many ranges will include that kit. If it is still in place, then you can have a qualified installer convert the range using that kit. The kit will include instructions and the LP orifices for the surface burners. If you cannot find that kit on the range, then you can order a new kit (part number 318186800). Here is a direct link for that kit: LP Conversion Kit Part 318186800 for Kenmore Range Model 790.74403993 . Contact your local gas provider for a qualified installer. You may also be able to find a pre-screened service provider on this website that can convert the range: ServiceLive.com . If you need more help, let us know.

The F30 code indicates the oven sensor is bad. It might be a wiring/loose connection problem but most likely the sensor is bad.

The probe is located in upper corner of the oven. The 316217002 probe is about $29 dollars and is available from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

If you feel confident with do-it-yourself you might try changing the probe yourself. Remember to turn the power to the oven off at the breaker.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this information is helpful to you.

Help! I have a Kenmore Elite Electric Range, Model 79046609502. I am getting the F30 error when trying to use my oven. The stove works fine. Reading some of the posts, I have tried removing the back panel and pressing the reset button. This did not work. I also read that there may be a reset button under the control panel. I checked and do not have a reset button under my control panel. I also read that my issue might be the termal sensor. So, I ordered and installed the new thermal sensor. This part did not work. Any ideas? I'm having a party on Saturday :)
