Question and Answers

Q:

Burner Flame excessive RGB526DET2WW Hotpoint Gas range

A:

Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your new Hotpoint Gas Range. I am so sorry the burner flames are too high. That is definitely a cause for concern. I will be happy to help you with this.

You mentioned that this range was newly installed. Did you have it converted for propane gas? This range comes from the factory set up for natural gas. Parts on it have to be replaced or converted for use with propane gas. The conversion kit and the instructions come with the range. They are located at the back of the storage/broiler drawer compartment in a metal bracket next to the pressure regulator.

SAFETY WARNING: GAS CONVERSIONS SHOULD ONLY BE PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN.

You will need to locate a qualified technician in your local area. If not performed correctly, gas conversions can result in property damage, personal injury or death. This is not a do-it-yourself project. Some states have laws requiring the conversion be completed by a technician. I recommend contacting your gas supply company. Sometimes they will do the conversion for you or can recommend a qualified technician.

I hope this answers your questions. If you need further assistance, please resubmit your question with additional details. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.
