I will need the model number from the lawn mower so I can see what all we may be dealing with on that. You can reply back to me directly on this thread with that number.

It looks like the first response was a "troll" trying to drum up hit counts on his Facebook page, I'm sorry about that. You would think people wouldn't troll on an appliance repair site, but I guess anything is possible these days.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

If you have a volt meter, check for DC voltage at the starter when trying to start. If there is voltage there then the starter is bad. If there is not voltage there then the problem is either in the harness plug or with the key switch.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. It is not very common for the input shaft to break off. I believe you need to order any other parts to complete this repair. It is not difficult to replace the gear case. You have to remove the drive wheels and the drive gear. Then remove the belt covers and disconnect the cable. Once every thing is disconnected from the gear case, you can slide the gear case in one direction to clear the hole then let that side come down then pull the gear case from the mower. There are not any difficult steps to replace the gear case.

I am sorry I cannot give you an estimate on what the labor cost would be for the repair because all markets have a different rate.

I hope this is helpful.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on this issue.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
