Thank you for submitting your question and I will be happy to assist you with the door latch. The door latch assembly (key #) is part number 74008702 priced at $77.41. You can order parts from our Sears Parts Direct web site. The removal of the latch assembly is provided in the image below. Reverse the procedure to install the new latch. If you do not feel comfortable performing test or repairing this problem yourself, I recommend scheduling for service. You can schedule for service online with out Sears Home Services team. Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details I suspect a faulty thermal fuse. The thermal fuse (key#5) is located on the upper right side of the heating element housing as shown in the image below. In order to access the thermal fuse and heating element will require hinging the top open. There will be a couple of spring clips to press inwards to release the top located between the front bottom of the top and the front panel. Use a putty knife to slip in-between to press on the clip and raise the top. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before raising the top.

The thermal fuse #LA-1053 for Admiral dryer model LNC7741A71 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct.
