Question and Answers

Q:

water in freezer WRT771RWYW01 Whirlpool Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

Normally when there is water coming into the fridge from the freezer it’s not a water lie spraying. I would check the drain whole for the freezer. Normally when the freezer goes thru a defrost cycle it will get debris stuck in the drain whole. This clogs the system and makes it pool up and eventually goes into the fridge.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

Ice maker WRT771RWYW01 Whirlpool Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Whirlpool refrigerator.

From the information you have provided above, check to see if the fill tube behind the icemaker is frozen. If it is, a hair dryer can be used to thaw it out. Just be careful not to get it too hot. If the tube is clear, cycle the icemaker manually and watch it, to see if it will fill, toward the end of the cycle. If it does not fill but you can hear a humming sound, the water valve will probably need to be replaced. First, make sure the water supply is ok to the valve

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.
