Q:

Why won't my oven heat up?

A:

Your diagnosis is correct. Sometimes when the element shorts as your did the heavy current draw caused from the short damages the contacts in the bake relay or the L2 relay if the range has one.

You need to replace the clock or electronic oven control located inside the control panel. The part number and price are below.

Part number 7601P233-60 CLOCK 1 $227.45

I own the RB262PXAQ5 whirlpool model under the counter oven. The lower element shorted out, we replaced it. worked great for a year. Broiler element stopped working. One day when oven was set to 350 F, broiler came on and would not shut off with "oven on" button. Had to shut off breaker. After 10 minutes, we turned breaker back on and broiler came on. We can not trust that the broiler will stay off. Any ideas?

Q:

Control panel is blank and 240 volt power to controller is on CWE5800ACB25 Maytag 24

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the blank display. I know how frustrating that is to have happen.

It does look like this has been researched and resolved by the manufacturer. Maytag is recommending to use part number 7601M286-60, which has since subbed into part number W10201915. This is the same part number that's used in model CWE5800ACB25. Based upon that, the board should work as a replacement to the original.

In situations where there is a substitution part, it could differ slightly from the original as far as connections. Sometimes slight fabrication is needed to make it functional. We would recommend having a service technician assist with the replacement of the board if any of those conditions arise.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

Oven heats slowly. CWE5800ACE Maytag Oven

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the prolonged period of time it takes for the upper oven to heat. I know how frustrating that is to have happen.

The oven internal heating and temperature is controlled by two components, the oven temperature sensor and the electronic control.

It's likely you have a defective oven temperature sensor, but it should be checked for resistance before replacing. At room temperature, it should measure about 1100 ohms. If it doesn't, I would recommend replacing it with part number 12001656. If it does test right, you will need an electronic control board, part number 7601M285-60R.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.
