I initiated the question. Thanks for your reply. Before sending the question, I had already looked all over the Sears and managemylife Web sites for the manual and/or previous conversations for this model, but none was available. I was finally able to figure it out myself. The evaporator pad is a large, wide fiber-like belt with rods at top and bottom of the housing that turn. The top rod has the drive belt and pulleys at one end, and a large plastic pin at the other with an arrow around it saying "Lock" in a counterclockwise direction I turned this pin clockwise, and with a lot of jiggling and prying (which is nerve-wracking since all parts are plastic and I was afraid something would break), I was finally able to pull it out. That enabled the top rod to come out of the housing. The bottom rod can be taken out by prying the supports apart slightly. Installing the new evaporator pad was just the reverse process. Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to replace the media pad on your humidifier.

  • At the top of the housing on the opposite side from the drive system there is a locking collar that you twist to release from the roller from the frame.

  • On the bottom media roller you can flex the supports out just enough to get the roller axle pins out.

  • Slide the media onto the rollers and re-install.

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for your request for phone support. The experts are not able to converse on the phone at this time. Perhaps in the future that will be an option. I hope you were successful in changing out the humidifier pad. I apologize in that I was on vacation last week. Sam A.
