Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details, the failed component is likely the simmer select control board or possibly the cook top lockout control board. I added an image of the simmer select wiring circuit and operation to reference below.

You can likely diagnose which one is faulty by making a visual inspection of the simmer select control board and the cook top lockout control board. Since it popped and flashed it should be visually apparent which one has failed by looking for burnt/blacken components on the control boards. The simmer select and the cook top lock out control will be located inside the control panel area. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the rear panel from behind the control panel.

When you determine which one has failed, you can look up and order the part from Sears Parts Direct .

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks for the suggestions. I replaced the simmer select board, since it was blackened on the back of the board and there was a blackened area behind the board on the stove itself. Unfortunately, the front left power burner still does not work. So far, I've replaced the burner, the infinite large element switch and the simmer select board. My expenditure on parts is mounting up with no results. Is the cooktop lockout control board something I should spend another $75.52 on to find out if it will fix the problem?

Ray: The cook top lock out board is the only component left. If the relay is not closing and completing the Line 2 voltage path on the cook top lock out board, the burner is not going to heat.
