Q:

Griddle/ELITE gas range 790.7540*

A:

Baked on grease can be stubborn. You do want to clean off the debris before curing. I attached two links below that may help. The first is a previous expert post and the second is a link to a how to website. Hope this helps you tackle the grease. Soaking does wonders.

Thank you for your question on the griddle seasoning.

You will have to clean the baked on areas as best you can before doing the process you outlined.

The original curing is important but as you use the griddle it will continue to get better if you do not scrub the curing out of the cast iron. Just wipe the cast iron off to clean it. If you get a lot of build up you will need to thoroughly clean it and then re-cure it.

I would recommend using a saturated fat like lard or bacon to season the pan with. It will take some time to actually get the pan to a non-stick seasoned surface. As you use the pan it will become more seasoned as long as you do not scrub the pan with hot soap and water.

I hope this will help.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when you have your range and not working correctly.

I am sorry though in that for me to find the exact part and problem.   I need the complete model number please.   The correct complete model number is found in 1 of 3 places.  1st place to look is to pull out the drawer below the oven.  Look on the frame of the oven behind the closed door.   2nd place to look is under the front burners.   3rd place to look is inside the oven itself.   Sounds like you are going to need the electronic control board or timer.   We can get you the parts and look it up when we get the complete model number.

If you have further questions please let me know.
Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Hi Mike, Thanks for writting back with the complete model number.  With that number, I know that I can help out.

You are having trouble with the range model 790.75403501 and it won't turn off.   You need to get the Electronic Clock/Timer.    That is the control that starts and stops all items of power.

I have included a link to our PartsDirect page where you can purchase the part you need to complete your repair. Just click the blue link below to be taken to the page.
