Question and Answers

Q:

The door handle so my Kenmore 721.80529500 Microwave is broken. How to replace?

A:

I think its that you are wanting to do some repairs on your own and I will be happy to help. I did some research and I was able to find a link that will guide you with your project. Microwaves can be dangerous to work on due to the high voltage they carry even when unplugged. For this reason I am also adding a second link in where you can set service to have your microwave repaired by a certified technician. I hope this helps with your project while you wait for your expert response.

Thank you for your question.

Replacing a door handle on most appliances is no big deal but a microwave is not the usual appliance. Replacing the door handle is a repair that should only be completed by a service technician. Disassembling the door would involve removing the microwave shielding components. A technician will need to remove these parts, replace the handle, and then reassemble the door. A microwave radiation leakage test must be performed on the door using proper testing equipment before the microwave can be safely returned to service.

I recommend calling a service technician to install the door handle. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

My microwave handle is loose on the bottom as well. Model # is 721.80529500. It actually slips out of the bottom and I have to slide it back in and pull more from the top, which is not loose. How can I tighten the handle ? Thanks -

A:

The intermittent growling can be caused by the turntable not being placed properly on the rotating ring assembly. Another possibility is that the turntable motor is worn and needs to be replaced.

Microwaves are not good do-it-yourself projects.

Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. Internal capacitors can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is unplugged. A microwave radiation leakage test must be performed on the unit following any repair .

I highly recommend calling a service technician to repair this type of problem.
