Q:

does the keypad have adhesive back? 72163684300 Kenmore Microwave hood combo

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when needing information on the microwave.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore Microwave model number  72163684300 .

I do not see that it has an adhesive back.   Just the ribbon that slides through.

Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your questions about your Microwave. I am so sorry to hear it has problems about the keypad. I know what a time saver the microwave is and know you want to get it working again quickly. In this case, I suggest you have it tested and repaired by a qualified technician.

We do not give advice on repairing microwave ovens because they are inherently dangerous to service. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is unplugged from the outlet. You need special equipment to work on a microwave starting with an anti-static wrist strap grounded to the microwave to even test components in it. Even minor door repairs and adjustments can cause microwave leakage, and a microwave shielding leakage test MUST be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service.

For these safety reasons I strongly recommend having this repair completed by a qualified service technician. You can schedule service online at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME (1-800-469-4663). Here at SearsPartsDirect.com we love to help you with your repairs, but our expert advice is that microwaves are just too dangerous for a do-it-yourself project.

Thank you for submitting your question. Marc has provided you with great information for this error code. Microwaves contain high-voltage components that can retain a lethal electrical charge of up to 2200 VAC -- even when the microwave is unplugged. It's for these reasons that Manage My Life is unable to assist customers in microwave repairs or troubleshooting. I recommend scheduling for service. I apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
