Question and Answers

Q:

micro wave model # 72163292301 ordered lamp for unit pls provide step by step installation for the bulb

A:

I am sorry you are experiencing difficulties with your Microwave. Most people do not know that Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. I strongly suggest that you have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. I have provided a link To Sears Home Services if you decide to schedule service. I have an expert answer in a link below that goes into a little more detail on this repair.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

To access and replace the oven cavity light will require a service technician if there is not an access cover inside the oven cavity or on the outside of the cabinet to access the light bulb.

I am sorry, but we do not give repair information on microwave ovens because they are inherently dangerous to service. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage, and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. That's why I strongly warn you to have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. You can schedule service online with Sears Home Services or by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME.

Normally at ManageMyLife.com we like to help you with all of your repairs, but our expert advice is that microwaves are just too dangerous.

You can find most of the handiest troubleshooting information in the owners manual. If you do not have your owners manual I was able to locate it here on the Manage My Life website. Below I have attached a link containing your owners manual to your model. I hope this is helpful. Have a nice day.

It is likely that the touch pad is bad. Since this is a microwave, I recommend that you carry it into a service center for repair instead of trying to fix it yourself. Microwaves have high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. The unit will also have to be tested for microwave radiation shielding leakage following any internal component repair. Here is a link that will help you find drop-off locations for service: Sears Home Services .
