It sounds like the reel cord has a broken wire and will need to be replaced.

You will need to replace the cord reel assembly.

Thank you for your question.

It can be frustrating when the cord reel gets a backlash and gets stuck.

Note! This will some time happen it is recoiling to fast when storing the cord. Releasing the cord slower will help with not causing a backlash.

  • You will need to remove the motor canopy to get to the reel cord assembly to fix the problem.

I have given two pictures below with instructions on how to access the reel cord.

  • As per the pictures remove the motor canopy cover and lift up and noting the location and pieces of the release so it can be returned to the unit in the proper location and order.

  • Sometimes you will only have to loosen the screws to relief the binding of the cord without completely removing the cover.
