Q:

I own Haier Freezer model #HCM050EB when plugged in makes a clicking sound ever once in a while but does not get cold. Could it possibly be the thermostat? HCM050EB Haier Freezer

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
Sorry to hear of the starting issue you are experiencing with the Haier freezer, I know how frustrating that is to have occur.
This sounds like a telltale sign of a defective compressor starter and overload, with the clicking more than likely coming from the starter trying to cycle the compressor on.
Unfortunately, it appears the parts have since been discontinued by Haier with no direct substitutes available. The part number for the starter is RF-6850-06 and the overload is RF-4800-33.
You can try running an internet search for the part numbers to see if you can still locate them available for sale, or you can try contacting Haier for assistance with locating a substitute if possible after checking availability online.
Hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

Kenmore Air conditioner Unit Problem

A:

Keeping cool without a working air conditioner is not easy. I located a troubleshooting guide that may help while you wait for the expert response. I would suggest adding the complete model number to help the expert provide the best answer to help. If you do decide to schedule a technician to diagnose and make repairs, the Sears Home Services link is below. I hope some of this information helps to get this a/c working.

Thank you for your question. If you could, please provide a model number of your window air conditioner so I can get a better idea of the type of control that it uses.

The Model# for the Kenmore Air Conditioner Unit is 580.76081. Also, the repair parts list manual shows a slightly different model number, it is 580.76081700. I don't know if the last three numbers are needed.

This unit has two boards. One for the display and one main control. It looks as if you need a new display board as the keys you are pressing are not forcing a change that is controlled by the display PCB. If you choose to replace it yourself, I also suggest replacing the ribbon cable that connects between the display PCB and the main PCB. The part number for the display PCB is 6871A20418D and the part number for the ribbon cable is 6850A90001R.

I found information on this washer (model WM2277HW) that indicates that the control board was changed after serial number 608KW**00001 (the explanation of the serial number format is shown in the image below). It appears that a new control board (part 6871ER2078A) will need to be used with that control panel. Here is a direct link for that new control board: Control Board .

Replacing that control board should fix this problem. If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will try to assist you further.

I'm sitting here with a big grin on my face! Numerous calls to sears parts direct and talking to "technicians" which all said it can't be done, You would have to rewire the entire washer to add these functions. It didn't sound right, but I gave up. I'm ordering the part today, and if it works, You are truley an appliance guru of all gurus Mr. Lyle W.

Lyle, This is a followup on the LG washer question. Part 6871ER2078A came today, and the harnesses are not the same. Not only are the harnesses different but the number of wires in the bundles are different. Con 1 has 12 pins (old) and 11 pins (new) con 2 Has 13 (old) and 12 (new). Also these harnesses at the pcb are different. I'm now looking at the upgraded harness part # 6850ER2003B. Will this do the trick?

A:

I can't guarantee it, but ordering and installing the new harness should fix this problem. I cannot tell whether that harness 6850ER2003B is intended for the new control board or the old control board. I highly suspect that it is intended for the new control board and display control board. I recommend that you order it and see if it matches up with the new control. If you need more help, reply with additional details.
