Question and Answers

Q:

The broiler Will not shut off. Had to unplubg stove 66595829003 Kenmore Range

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
Sorry to hear of the issue with the broil element staying on constantly, I know how frustrating that is to have occur.
The bake and broil elements are powered by a relay within the electronic control board or clock. If the broiler element is not powering off unless the power or breaker are off, it's likely that the relay within the electronic board is stuck open and constantly powering the element. The only option I could foresee in this situation would be to replace the board. If you do replace the electronic control board, purchasing the overlay with the board is recommended. The overlay is offered in three different colors. 12A on the diagram is for bisque, 12B is for black, and 12 is white.

A:

The error code F3 E2 is telling you the electronic control on the range detected a high temperature in the oven. This can be caused by a defective oven temperature sensor (p/n: W10181986 pirced at $65.90) or the electronic range control (p/n: 8523665 priced at $173.24). You can't test the ERC, but you can test the oven sensor. Begin by disconnecting the power to the range and removing the rear panel covering the ERC. Remove the lower panel from the range and follow the oven sensor wires up to the control. Disconnect the plug on the ERC containing the oven sensor wires and read the resistance of the oven sensor. It should read between 1000-1200 ohms. If the oven sensor tests within this range the ERC is defective. If it tests out of the range disconnect the wires from the oven sensor and measure the resistance of the oven sensor. If it tests out of the range the oven sensor is defective. If it tests within the range the harness between the ERC and the oven sensor is defective. You can order parts from [www.searspartsdirect.com]. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
