Your details indicate that the broil element was heating at full capacity. This indicates that the clock control board (part 8523665) is probably causing this failure. You can check the broil element for damage or an apparent short. That first link for a previous answer that Jackie S. posted in the above response provides some good tips for checking that issue. Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing internal components. If the broil element is okay, then replacing the clock control board in the console should fix your problem. Here is a direct link for that part: Clock Control Board for Kenmore Range 665.95822002 . Here is a link for a repair video that shows how to replace that clock control board in the console: Range Clock Control Replacement . Your range will be slightly different than the one shown in that video but the basic repair procedure is the same. Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing and replacing internal components.

This information should help you repair that failure. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
