Question and Answers

Q:

Why won't the oven door close properly on my Kenmore range model 665.95802?

A:

There is not a kit available for fixing this type of problem on your oven door. There is not a common problem that I am aware of on this model of Kenmore range. The image below shows the procedure for removing and replacing the door on the oven. Remove the door as shown below and look for damage to the door hinges and door that could be preventing the door from closing fully. Check the pins and the range frame as well. You may need to disassemble the door to check for problems with the hinge assembly. I included this procedure below. If you are able to inspect the door and find the cause of your problem, you can order and install parts as needed to fix the problem. Parts are available from the Sears PartsDirect website.

If you are not able to determine the cause of your problem, I recommend that you have a Sears Technician physically examine the door and fix this problem. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

Hello. I have a problem with my oven door. The I removed to make cleaning of the internal glass door were smeared with grease and now I can not put them to the back. I tried to stretch the spring to put the door but turn to back. I read that it takes about pins, but I do not I have and not what part are. I saw on the page that show some technical manuals on how to install, but the images are very small that does not help. There is a site where you can view larger. Someone please help as I could reinstall my oven door. I would be very grateful for your help and if I could see a hinge installation manual much bigger. The model of my stove is 665.95776890

I had the same problem. I ordered new hinges and replaced the old one. It worked for about 18 months and the same problem re developed. I think it's a bad design.

Q:

Manual installation of Oven Door Hinge. Part Number: 8053807

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I added a link to the Use and Care manual and on page 39 and 40 in the Use and Care Guide it will have the directions for removing and replacing the oven door.

If you remove the door before locking the hinge open, you will have use some type of tool to pry the hinge back open and then lock it in place before re-installing the door.

I added a video that may be helpful to you.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

kenmore oven door wont shut tight

A:

Oven doors hold the heat in and make sure the temperature does not fluctuate when cooking. It is especially important at this time of year. I found a similar question from a previous expert post that may help while the expert reviews your model. I also added the link for the owner's manual/installation manual for your range. There should be some tips that may help.

Most likely your hinges are worn out. The hinges & springs come as an assembly and are built in the door. This may be repair more suited for a Sears service tech to handle for you as these doors can be tricky to remove and disassemble without breaking the glass or getting your fingers pinched by a hinge. If you do feel confident doing the repair yourself, make sure you replace both hinges, not just one. Your hinges are part #8053807 and they are sold individually so order 2!

Thank you for your question. I understand your concern with the oven door not shutting tight. If the door is not sealing tight enough to make a seal then the door hinges will likely need to be replaced.

I added the instructions in the image below.

The door hinges is part #8053807 and you will likely have to order two hinges. The hinges can be ordered and shipped to you from Sears Parts Direct .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services
