Q:

Front two power burners not lighting 66595174300 Kenmore Electric range

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

It sounds like there may be an issue with either the infinite switch, or the surface element. There is a very good possibility that it’s both of them at the same time. Normally you can test the element for continuity, and if that tests well then it’s the switch.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

Q:

Triple Task Oven drawer failure and replacing Thermal Fuse

A:

It sounds like you have been making repairs in a logical systematic way. I can understand why this problem would be difficult. While you wait for the expert, you might want to just check a previous expert post for this model and a fuse problem. I attached below. Hope this helps bring some light to the matter.

The wiring diagram for your range is shown in the image below. The circuit through the elements is traced in red. The yellow line traces the circuit through the indicator light. The light should be coming on even through the thermal fuse is blown. You could have a wiring failure or a bad control thermostat for the drawer that is causing this problem.

I recommend that you unplug the range and carefully check the wiring while using the wiring diagram below as a guide.

The thermostat sensor is attached to the control thermostat that is located in the console for the warmer drawer. You can trace the connection line from the control thermostat in the console down to the location in the warmer drawer. If the control thermostat needs to be replaced, it will come with that sensor attached. I provided a photograph of that thermostat in the second image below.

This information may help you resolve the problem that you have with your warmer drawer in this range. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Error codes can be an inconvenience and keep your range from working properly. I did some research and I was able to find a link with a similar question. I hope this helps with your research while you wait for your expert response.

Thanks for the information about your range model 665.95174300, I will be glad to assist. Based on your explanation of power going off and display showing, PF meaning power failure and other letters showing. If the range was operating before the power failure then you should be able to cancel the display by holding it for five seconds the code should clear. I have been unable to find any codes 5A6 as the only codes normally are F code with a number flowing like F5, F0.  Try the reset or cancel, and if you still are having a problem reply with details and I will be happy to respond. If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.Ron H.
