I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your range. The issue that you are having with the burners is most likely due to a failure in either the switches or the wiring. On this model the wiring for the burners is not individual, so it is possible to have one surge while the other one is on. The burners are connected in sets. However, you will need to test both the wiring and the switches to find which is causing the issue. For this you will need an Ohm/Volt meter and you will be looking for 120 volts of continuity. If you need feel comfortable doing this test, just click here to schedule a service technician: Sears Home Services . If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for your question on the oven not turning off when the range is not plugged in.

I am sorry, but if the oven element is on even with the oven control off the relay on the Electronic oven control is welded on and there is not a way for you to remove that without removing the hot wire from the relay on the control board and then that would also not be safe unless it was insulated for shock when you turn the power back on.

The sensor may or may not have been the problem, but usually an error will display in the clock but disconnecting the sensor will not help at this time.

I am sorry that I could not help you until the technician comes to service your range.

Q:

Why do I get the E1F5 error code on my Kenmore range model 66592025101 when I try to set the self clean cycle?

A:

The E1 F5 (same as FS) code indicates that the control senses that the oven door lock mechanism is not operating. The control will not start a self clean cycle unless it senses that the oven door is properly locked. Make sure that your oven door is properly closed when you start a self clean cycle. If the door switch is operating properly, then you could have a failed door latch switch or a bad door latch motor. You could also have a failed oven control board that is causing this problem. I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair this type of problem.
