Question and Answers

Q:

Dishwasher - lights flashing won't work !

A:

Having a dishwasher begin to flash codes at you can be a real head-ache. I did some research on the code for you and provided a link to a similar question and answer on our site. I hope this will give you a better idea on the next step to take until the Expert responds to your question in more detail within 24 to 48 hours.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dishwasher. When the any of the LED's above the key is flashing rapidly it indicates a stuck or shorted key pad. NOTE: Disconnect the power supply to dishwasher before servicing your dishwasher. In order to test the key pad/touch panel it will require disconnecting the ribbon connector from the control board and testing the key pad operation with an ohm meter. In order to test the Normal button, the red ohm meter lead will need to be placed on pin #13 on P1 connector and the black ohm meter lead will be placed on pin #4 on the P1 connector while pressing the Normal wash key pad. If the meter shows continuity before pressing the Normal key pad then the Normal key pad is stuck of shorted. Replace the console assembly. If all the key pads test Okay, replace the control board.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Where is the filter and how do I clean it on my Kenmore elite dishwasher?

A:

The first thing to check is the upper rack delivery tube. Be sure when you push in the upper rack that the delivery tube docks up to the rear feeder outlet port. In order to clean the filter you will need to disassemble the pump assembly. Be sure the water level is correct & the water supply is around 120 degrees or hotter. Please see the attached images for more details.

thanks for the answer, I checked the upper arm feeder tube and it was ok, this was an issue before when I was using the lower rack setting and it was not engaging properly, however I have corrected that and it is the first thing I check. The filter seems to be very clean, from a visual check, and there does not seem to be any others from the diagram, so I am not sure that pulling the filter and pump unit apart would be of help.
