Q:

PF code on Kenmore range after replacing keypad

A:

Diagnosing problems on anything electronic can be like dominoes. I would also want confirmation before I spent more on a part that may not fix the issue. I see that you have the owner's manual. I did find another similar question and expert post that seems to confirm the control board. I attached below but the expert will be able to provide guidance and confirmation. Good luck!

A:

The control board on a range can cause any error code. The F2-E0 error code on the range you have is almost always caused by the touchpad.

The PF code indicates the control board has lost power and regained it. When pf occurs while cooking it is usually caused by a bad connection. I suspect one of the terminals inside a connector has backed up and is not connecting securely to the control board or power supply.

I would disconnect the power to the range and remove the rear control panel cover. Disconnect each connector and inspect the terminals and the wires crimped in the terminals. I think you will find the problem in this area.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom replacing the bake burner assembly will likely resolve the issue. The bake burner and bake igniter have been modified to assure consistent oven ignition and performance.

  • The burner has been modified by increasing the number of ignition ports located at the electrode tip.
  • The electrode shield has been modified by reducing the amount of material around the electrode ignition point.

Replacing the bake burner assembly will likely resolve the issue based on your details. The oven floor can be removed to access the bake burner. The oven bottom will have a couple of screws to remove at the back of oven floor. Slide the bottom back and lift it up and off. There will be flame spreader panel to remove after the floor has been taken out in order to access the bake burner. The part number of the bake burner assembly is #8190618 and can be ordered from SearsPartsDirect . NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the oven bottom.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
