Question and Answers

Q:

bake and broiler burners light then go out 66575832002 Kenmore Gas range

A:

  • I would suggest that you first REMOVE POWER to the range.

  • Then locate and remove the back panel on the range to gain access to the electronic oven control boards.

  • On the back of the control look for the L2 and L2 out wire connections on the board. It that L2 out is bad it will not give you power to the oven and broil and may have damaged the simmer board.

  • I suggest that you look for burn marks on the control board and simmer control board and at least ck the oven and broil elements for being shorted if only to physically check the elements, but it would be better if you could do a resistance and grounding check on those elements with a meter. It would not be good to spend all that money for boards and then pop them again.

You may have to replace both electronic oven control board and the simmer board.

The reason the others are not working is the relays on the board are double throw relays and if they have shorted it will prevent the other circuits from working.

Unless you are confident of your diagnostic skills, I would suggest you have a technician check out the range.

If you need more information please include the complete model number so I can be more precise in my answer. It is located behind the storage drawer on the main body of the range.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "E1/F1" fault code implies a faulty electronic oven control.

According to the technical data sheet; to confirm if the electronic oven control is faulty; disconnect the range from the power source for 1 minute. Reapply the power source and observe the display for at least a couple of minutes. If the fault code recurs, disconnect the power supply and replace the electronic oven control. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the panel from behind the console and replacing the oven control.

The electronic oven control #8523666 for Kenmore range model 665.75832002 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct.

A:

Jacquie: The E1/F1 fault code indicates a EEPROM checksum failure. This means the electronic oven control will likely need to be replaced. Disconnect the power supply from the range for 1 minute. Re-apply power and wait to see if the E1/F1 fault remains. If it does, the electronic oven control will need to be replaced.

Thanks for the information about your range/oven model 66575832002, I will be glad to assist you with this issue. The error codes E1 and F3 are indication that a problem with the oven sensor has occurred. If you have testing equipment the probe should read 1080 ohms at room temperature. If you have no way to perform this test try a resetting of the control by disconnecting power for more than 30 seconds then set to bake and start, if error clears then good, if it reoccurs you will need to test the sensor and connecting wiring from sensor back to the control. I hope this helps you, if you need additional help please reply with more details and I will be happy to respond.   If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.Ron H.
