I can understand how important it is to have your oven working properly, especially a gas oven. On this model you do not have a pilot light for the ignition system. You have a direct spark module. If this is malfunctioning, then it can open the burner without igniting the gas. There is a direct spark module kit that you can replace it with. It is part number 8273977. It will comes it the replacement instructions. If you would like to order this part, just click on this link: Sears Parts Direct . If you don't feel comfortable doing the replacement yourself, just click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services . I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Why is the oven on my Kenmore range not working correctly?

A:

The PF code is usually caused by the spark module giving off an electrical interference signal. I recommend having the spark module replaced & if you still get the PF error code & the harness is routed correctly, replace the EOC, electronic oven control. The bake burner has also been modified to include the igniter & burner together. Please see the images provided below for more details.

Q:

Why does my Ultrabake Kenmore oven start to heat up then stop?

A:

Replacing the bake burner and igniter will likely resolve the bake burner from shutting off during pre-heat and/or shutting off during bake. The bake burner and igniter will need to removed and replace with a new and improved burner assembly with igniter. The burner and igniter will come as an assembly. The burner assembly is part #8190618.

The bake burner and bake igniter has been modified to insure consistent oven ignition and performance.

  • The burner has been modified by increasing the number of ignition ports located at the electrode tip.
  • The electrode shield has been modified by reducing the amount of material around the ignition point.

I added a couple of images below with troubleshooting and theory of oven operation.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range.
