Question and Answers

Q:

Control Board can't communicate with the switch 66575822000 Kenmore Gas range

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Range, Model: 665.75822000. From reviewing the details on your model, as you know "PF" indicates the range experienced a power failure. If you're sure the range did not lose the power supply at any time, and there is no loose or intermittent voltage supply connections, I would suspect the electronic oven control is faulty. I have included an insert from the service manual on what the F3- E2 error means.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the range to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com. I'm sorry to hear about the gas smell coming from the oven cavity, I know how alarming that can be.

I have pulled up the model for your free standing gas range and the only part I can see within the oven cavity that could leak gas would be the gas valve itself. This particular model doesn't have a safety valve, which usually sits over the gas valve or works in conjunction with it. Outside of the gas valve for the oven cavity, you have the valves for the surface burners, but if no gas is coming from them, I would suspect the gas valve would need to be replaced, unless there is just a connection issue with it that needs to be addressed.

If you fear being taken advantage of by a local repairman, I would recommend contacting Sears Home Service and receive a quote for one of our technicians to come to the house and help with the issue. If you would like to get pricing and availability, click here to be directed to the page.

For your convenience, I have also attached a link below for the gas valve that you can click on to be directed to the PartsDirect page for viewing and pricing. Knowing the cost of the replacement part is half the battle when negotiating or figuring out what should be charged for the repair. That way, if the repair person states that the repair will cost $300, and you know the part is $100, you can calculate their labor and see if you are being overcharged.

Thank you very much for the information. The repairman I spoke with told me he thought it might be the gas valve and it would cost between 200 and 300 plus the labor so your reply is VERY helpful. Do you think I would be able to replace it myself or should I call someone out...money is pretty tight but I don't want to put my safety at risk for a couple of hundred dollars. Thank You again for your help, Brenda
