Hello Jon. I see that you added a model number to this thread. Thank you for posting that additional information on your Kenmore Range Model 665.72029100.

I posted some troubleshooting for the spark ignition system in your previous question: How do I fix clogged pilot light on Kenmore Ultra Bake Oven? Works off and on (seems clogged if that's possible). Who would I contact to fix if I can't?  This model of Kenmore range has the spark ignition system that is described in that previous answer.

Check to see if the broil burner works properly. If it does, then you will probably need to replace the bake burner and igniter electrode. That part comes in a kit (part 8190618) that includes the bake burner and the igniter electrode. If you need that kit, you can order it from this page: Bake Burner and Electrode Kit 8190618. Be sure that you unplug the range and shut off the gas supply before accessing internal components and replacing parts. Remove the bottom panel of the oven and the flame spreader to access the bake burner and igniter.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

Thank you for your question on the lock rod for the self-clean locking mechanism.

I believe the rod you are referring to is the rod that attaches the lock motor to the lock hook to lock the door for self clean.

It should be connected to the motor on the back end and the latch hook on the front of the range.

I will give you a picture of this area.

I hope this will help.

Sam A.

Newbie, Thank you for your input. Sears/Kenmore does not show the micro switch and they did not even know it was there. I did remove the top plate to get to the switch which took 15 screws to remove. The rod i was talking about is the rod from the switch to the oven lock. This rod had came loose from the connector. Do to the fact i am not mechanical inclined it was for me a very stressful time. it is so sad when you have more time than money to get help. Your help was greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the update. The switches on the self-clean lock motor are only included with the lock motor assembly. In order to get the lock rod back onto the lock motor you will usually have to at least remove the lock motor so you can turn it to get the hook on the end of the wire back into the hole on the lock motor cam. I order to do this you will need to remove the back panel off the range to gain access to those screws. SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others. I hope you were able to get it reconnected. Sam A.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symptom and details it sounds like it has a faulty electronic oven control board. I added an image below with the wiring diagram and some other useful information. Note: Make sure the cook top was not lock out.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
