Question and Answers

Q:

Receiving error code EO F2 what's wrong??? 66572024100 Kenmore Gas range

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The F2/E0 fault code means a key was held down too long or one of the keys is shorted. In order to diagnose if the touch panel or control is faulty will require performing the steps in the image I added below.

Disconnect the range from the power supply and then remove the panel from behind the console.

Disconnect the flat ribbon connector from the control board and inspect it for damage or corrosion. If Okay, reconnect the ribbon connector and make sure it's fully seated before locking down the connector. Reconnect the power cord and observe for a couple of minutes. If failure code recurs or if any false key presses occur, disconnect power and replace the keypad.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website:

Q:

The range on my oven is not getting any gas but the oven is. WHY?

A:

Power failures can certainly affect our appliances. A suggestion I have that often works for me is to check the troubleshooting guide for your range. I attached the link to the range manual below. I also found a similar question on an appliance web site. It may help while you wait for the expert answer.

A:

When a power failure occurs, the cook top lockout will automatically be turned on. If you have not already disabled the cook top lockout then hold down the TOP button for 5 deliberate seconds or until the Lock OFF appears in the display.

If you have already disabled the cook top lockout feature then you likely have a problem with the cook top lockout relay, the electronic oven control board or you have a wiring failure in the circuit. There is a possibility that you have a problem with the gas shut-off valve for the cook top. A service technician will normally need to diagnose and repair this type of problem. If you want to attempt to fix this problem yourself and need more help, submit additional details and we will try to assist you further.
