Q:

TEMPERURE CONTRL 66572012104 Kenmore Gas range

A:

It can be a real headache when your oven malfunctions and will not operate properly. I did some research and provided a link to a similar question and answer on our site. I hope this will shed a little more light on the issue until the Expert responds to your question in more detail within 24 to 48 hours.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the bake burner is igniting each time it calls for heat and the burner is not shutting off prematurely, it could have faulty oven temperature sensor. The oven temperature sensor should have approximately 1080 Ohms at room temperature of 72 degrees. It can be disconnected and measured with an Ohm meter.

I suspect the issue is with the bake burner more so than the temperature sensor. Your specific model range has a Direct Spark Ignition system for the oven ignition. It must produce a spark between the grounded bake burner and the electrode in order to open the gas valve and ignite.

If the oven igniter bracket is mounted crooked on the over burner, causing a misalignment of the spark igniter to the oven burner gas ports, it may not always ignite.

It may need the new and approved bake burner assembly part #8190618 which has additional ignition ports.

I added a second response with a couple of images with the theory of operation.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

Is it possible to get the reprogramming code for Kenmore Range Model 665.72012104?

A:

There is no reprogramming code to correct the bake burner from shutting off 10 seconds after the burner ignites.

You model range may need to have the bake burner replaced with an updated version depending on the serial number of your range.

You did not indicate what the Electronic Control is displaying when this happens. If it displays the pre-set temperature and the time of day when it's in a normal bake cycle or if the display continues to count down when it's in the Timed Bake cycle would indicate that you range may need to have a new bake burner and igniter installed.

The bake burner and bake igniter have been redesigned by increasing the number of ignition ports located at the electrode tip. In addition, the electrode shield has been redesigned by reducing the amount of material around the electrode ignition point.

I recommend calling a Sears service technician to diagnose and repair your range.
