Question and Answers

Q:

How do you replace the LCD screen on a Kenmore Elite model 66563794305 microwave?

A:

Microwaves are not good do-it-yourself projects and while the LCD screen 8204689 is available separately it is also available as part of the control panel assembly 8205406. Both parts are expensive. The LCD is approximately $213 dollars and the complete assembly is approximately $350 dollars. Both parts can be ordered from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

To change the LCD screen will require removing the microwave cabinet and this is something only a technician should do and I don't recommend this as a do-it-yourself project.

Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. Internal capacitors can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is unplugged. A microwave radiation leakage test must be performed on the unit following any repair.

I recommend calling a service technician to repair this type of problem.

Q:

What does error code F7 indicate on my microwave oven?

A:

The most likely failure is that the power supply to the magnetron was interrupted or it totally lost power to the magnetron tube.

I added an image of the procedure that a technician will need to use to diagnose the F7 failure code.

A technician will be needed to diagnose and repair your microwave oven.

NOTE: Do not attempt to diagnose your own microwave for your safety. You could be seriously injured or killed.
