If the magnetron needs replaced I recommend calling for a service technician to come out & replace it. The microwave should be checked first to confirm the diagnosis. This will require accessing the inside components & using a meter to do the testing. We do not advise the customer to remove the cover off of their microwave due to safety reasons. Some internal parts hold a voltage charge of up to 10,000 volts even when disconnect from the power source & special meters are needed to check for RF leakage after the repair is completed. We recommend calling for service on something like this.

I am a consumer of Sears for decades, not a appliance Tech. Most magnetrons are covered by a 10 year warranty. Sears is great in honoring manufacture's warranty of covering the parts and labor. When Sears works on a microwave, they will also test for microwave leakage and safety. In-home service from sears will probably charge a fee if the entire unit is out of warranty, even if the magnetron is within the 10 yr. Yet if you bring the microwave to Sears drop off center, the magnetron will be covered if the unit has the 10 yr magnetron warranty. if you have a receipt, that will be great. If not, the serial number can be used to determine the date of manufacture and confirm with Sears if in warranty.

I am wondering if anyone knows which terminal on the magnetron does the red and white wires plug into. One magnetron terminal has a brown wire going from the terminal to the magnetron itself. The other terminal does not have any wire returning back to the magnetron.

Joseph P. provided a link in the above response that describes the cause of this F3H error code. You probably have a bad humidity sensor in the microwave. A wiring failure or a bad control board could also cause this problem. Due to the inherent dangers of servicing a microwave, I recommend that you have a service technician repair this type of failure. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

NOTE: Microwaves have internal high voltage components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the unit is completely unplugged. A microwave radiation shielding test must be performed on the unit following any repair. These are the reasons why we recommend that microwaves be serviced only by technicians.

Why is my microwave not putting out any heat?

A:

The only way to find out what’s wrong with your microwave is to make some checks with a volt meter. I would recommend calling for service on something like this.
