Question and Answers

Q:

Display has a small "d"

A:

I understand that your microwave is displaying a small letter "d" on the display. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I attached the link below for you to view. I hope the link that I have provided you is useful.

A:

Thank you for your question and understand your concern. The small letter "d" means demo mode. To take the unit out of demo, touch and hold the "Kitchen Timer" button for 4 seconds or longer until the "d" disappears from the display. Once the "Demo" has been turned off, the microwave should operate normally again. See images below.

To remove the charcoal filters: Push the back side of the charcoal frame towards the back in order to compress the little springs until the front side of the charcoal frame clears the channel and then swing the front of the filter down and slide it out.

Q:

How do I replace the door latch on my Kenmore microwave oven?

A:

Yes, the parts on image #3 are called door latches. Use a thin blade like a putty knife to carefully pry out the door choke #2. After removing the door choke you will be able to see the screws to remove the door latches.

Be sure to have the door RF leaked checked with a survey meter after making the repairs.
